Considering I’m on a roll I decided to do another monochromatic card, this time using the Calypso Coral theme. The designer paper pack that accompanies the Seaside Shore set called By The Shore has this awesome paper that I think looks great as a background for a card. And it saves a lot of work! I’m not sure which one I like the best the Dapper Denim set or this one. Sorry for the shocking photo, it’s raining a lot here and I haven’t been able to set up how I usually do my photos.

I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I’ve updated this blog! This is what happens when life gets in the way and you lose your creative oomph. I’m not promising that this will be updated regularly from now on but I will do my best, if only so I can play with the awesome stuff I keep ordering!
I decided this afternoon was as good a time as any to make a quick card and I was really happy with how it turned out. The monochromatic look really appeals to me for some reason.

Ok, this not studying thing has it’s advantages. I decided today I need to take a 24 hour break from the books to reset the brain. So far I’ve watched some TV, played some games and did something creative and I don’t feel guilty at all. I thought I’d spend some time to today browsing through http://www.splitcoaststampers.com they always have great technique projects and I saw this one for a Double Gate Fold Card and decided to give it a go.
It’s something different from my normal card sizes but I really like it. And it’s a great way to use up the many many sheets of patterned paper I have. So a win win in my books.
The colours used are, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay and Delightful Dijon.
The Stamp Set is Choose Happiness.
So, this is what happens when I decide that I need to take a study break and do something creative to be able to refocus. I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out, but am quite pleased with how it did. I finally decided to use the Hexagon punch that’s been sitting in my drawer for a while. And the new Pretty Petals Designer Paper Stack, such delightful papers.
No doubt, there will be a few more posts this week as I procrastinate from the studying…..especially considering I have 2 weeks off work and a box of goodies set to arrive on Monday 🙂
I had a few extra minutes the other day and decided I it was a good time to play with the butterfly thinlits I bought a while ago. They are so cool and delicate, love the way they cut out. There will hopefully be a few more cards made with these 🙂
And that paper is so delightful too. It’s from the Pretty Petals Designer Paper Stack, so many designs in the booklet, well worth getting.

One of the new framelits in the Occassion Catalogue is a mini treat bag. I’ve only had a small opportunity to play so far but I ca see great potential. Especially for Easter gifts. I ended up making the bag and a card insert, it’s very simple, but sometimes simple is good. I especially loved how the colour combination turned out. Really liked the brown colours with the red and blue.
